BLIZZARD OF 2013

Post by Myrsho »

OMG! We have a lot of snow and driving home was horrible. Couldn't get the van out of the hospital parking lot, and I got stuck 3 times in the Trailblazer picking everyone up on the way home. None of the side streets had been scraped even once, and big 4 wheel drive trucks were getting stuck. We are home safe now, but I doubt we are going anywhere the next day or two.

Glad to hear you made it home safely. Guess you will get a few extra days of online time!

Glad you made it home. I worked from home to avoid the mess, my boss even told us all to work from home today unless we just had to go in.

It took Abigail and I about an hour to shovel the driveway and play with her new sled.

Here is what it looked like when I was driving home:

:)

No, I didn't happen to take any pictures yet. I'll probably get some tomorrow after the additional 1" to 3" of snow we are suppose to get tonight. :(

Cute picture! :)

We paid the guy that comes around the in a Bobcat $20 to clear the driveway. Well worth it for the 10" to 12" of snow that was piled up.

Great picture, Myrsho! Hahaha. Is that a snow bunting in the lower left? Love the picture, Altus! She is getting so big! They unfortunately grow up too fast, imo. I bet she enjoyed the snow! Oh, to be a kid again. Thanks for the pictures!

We probably ended up with 12" give or take. Still less than the 18" we had a couple of years ago.

Myrsho, are you getting any more snow today? I know Prions (Primarycare/Benjamin) is in Kansas City, my sister just posted some pictures, they have a lot of snow. Here in St. Louis we just have rain and most of the snow has melted (at least what I can see from my desk).

We got quite a bit of snow last night. We didn't get much more today. The roads were mostly clear in the the morning and were just fine in the afternoon.

The hospital by work collected all of their snow in the corner of the parking lot. It's in a gigantic pile that's about as tall as I am, and could easily conceal (for all I know, it could be) my car. :D

Other than that, most of the snow around home/work is starting to melt off, where it hasn't been piled up.

Like Altus said, only got some light rain this week, and a little bit of snow today (Yesterday/Wednesday), but not enough to cover anything. Everyone worked from home Thursday and Friday of last week, and we may all be working from home again Today (actually today/Thursday) because power went out at the office yesterday. :/

It's an old building, we have problems like that all the time. :/

MORE
St. Louis is getting more. Last time I was outside we had 12.5 inches, I'd guess we are up to 13 inches at this point. It all fell in less than 12 hours.

Early in the day, we had about 4 inches.

After another 8 inches fell from the North (direction it is leaning).

MORE
Offically we got 12.2 inches at the airport, I have 13 inches in my backyard. This is the largest snowfall St. Louis has had since 1982 and the largest every recorded in March.

On a positive note Abigail and I stood the snowman back up this morning.

I absolutely hate snow as it's caused me to slip and plant weight on my heel (got my stitches out Friday, but it still needs time) several times this morning.
I don't think we got nearly 12 inches, but it looks like about 8 or more. I didn't stop to measure it.

I didn't plan for the snow, and my work computer and whatnot was (get this) at work. So I won't be working from home like several others are doing, lol.
